The Long Beach Modern Quilt Guild (LBMQG) is proud to present our 2025 fiber art collection, Perspectives, at the Zena and Pauline Gatov Gallery at the Alpert Jewish Community Center (JCC).
This exhibition features a vibrant selection of quilts by LBMQG members, including a curated collection of miniature quilts from our Transition in Threads challenge. Our special exhibition, Threads of Transition, explores each artist’s interpretation of change through modern mini quilts, reflecting autumn as a time for reflection, balance, and transformation.
Each quilt is a handmade work of art, carefully crafted through pattern, color, texture, and thousands of stitches. These pieces tell the personal stories of our quilters, transforming fabric into visual art through a variety of techniques, symbols, and styles.
The exhibit showcases the exceptional talent of our members, including many whose work has been displayed at prestigious national and international quilt shows such as Road to California and QuiltCon.
We invite you to experience modern quilting through the LBMQG’s lens and celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship that define this year’s exhibition.
Meet the Artists Reception:
Tuesday, November 11, 2025, 6 – 9 p.m.
The Long Beach Modern Quilt Guild warmly invites the public to a special “Meet the Artist” Reception. Join us for a memorable evening with fellow quilters, featuring a silent auction, refreshments, and a special Veterans Day Quilt Presentation in partnership with Quilts of Valor. In collaboration with the Alpert Jewish Community Center and the Quilts of Valor Foundation, we are proud to present Quilts of Valor to local veterans during the reception.
These beautiful and meaningful quilts are awarded—not simply given—as a way to honor the service, sacrifice, and valor of those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Quilts of Valor Foundation describes them as the civilian equivalent of a Purple Heart: a tangible expression of gratitude from a grateful nation.
We look forward to sharing this heartfelt and meaningful moment with the community as we recognize and celebrate the dedication of these remarkable veterans on Veterans Day.
