Call for Volunteers
It is committee time for our upcoming exhibition. We have several volunteer opportunities for everyone to choose from.
Submit your committee preferences ASAP using this form.
- Curating the show - Selecting and arranging the final quilts for the show. 10 members
- Publicity - Printing and distributing marketing materials. Emailing guilds. 4 members
- Quilt collection drop-off - One Long Beach and one Orange County drop-off location. 2 members
- Quilt show hang - At the JCC on Monday, October 6 at 10 AM. 6 members
- Quilt info plaques - Print and prepare information for each quilt. 2 members
- Reception refreshments - Arrange and present refreshments. 3 members
- Viewer's Choice - Create ballots and collect throughout the show run. Present winner. 2 members
- Sales - Create and implement a sales model for our quilts. 3 members
- Quilt show take down - At the JCC on Monday, November 24 at 10 AM. 6 members
Important Dates
Quilt Submissions: TBA, late August/early September
- Members are invited to submit as many modern quilts as they wish.
- Quilts need not be completed for curation. Send a picture of the quilt as is to give the curators an idea of what is available for the exhibit.
- Every member will be given the opportunity to show at least one quilt. The number of quilts accepted will be determined by available space.
- Threads of Transition Mini Challenge Quilts are separate. If you submit a challenge quilt and a modern quilt, each will have the opportunity to be shown. You are encouraged to do both.
- Each submission will require filling out a web form and separately mailing a picture of the quilt to longbeachmqg@gmail.com

Quilt Curation: Early/Mid-September
Meeting links will be sent via Zoom. All members are invited to participate.
Drop-off Week: Late September to before Oct 6
Members will be sent an email identifying which submitted quilts will hang and instructions on where to drop off quilts in the greater Long Beach area.
Load-in: October 6
Show: October 7 – November 23
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Visit as many times as you want and bring your friends and family.
Reception: November 11th, 6-8 p.m.
Please invite your friends and family to this reception open to the public. There will be food, drinks, raffle prizes, and a good time.
Take down: November 24
Members are welcome to come pick up their quilts at the JCC in the morning. Take down is quick - the group is unlikely to be there later than 10:30 a.m. Times will be posted and updated.
