Philanthropy

Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach
The guild proudly supports several programs at the hospital including the following:

Quilts for Shooting Victims - Thousand Oaks Nightclub
The guild is currently initiating a program to make 14 quilts in support of the families impacted by the mass shooting in Thousand Oaks. For quilt details, see the Thousand Oaks document for guidelines for making a quilt.

Memory Pillow Program
At the 1 year anniversary of the passing of a child, the guild makes a memory pillow which is customized for each child and which the hospital presents to the surviving family members. The following are some of the pillows we have made. Go to the Memory Pillow Instructions document for guidelines for making a pillow.

Comfort Pillow Program
As a very young child progresses towards end-of-life, the hospital may opt to present the family with a customized pillow to comfort them. The guild provides the generic pillow covers which the hospital staff then further customizes. Go to the Comfort Pillow Instructions document for guidelines for making a pillow cover.

Project Bags and Pillowcases
The guild makes project bags and pillowcases for the children when they have an extended stay in the hospital to help decorate their room and to manage their belongings. Go to the Project Bag and/or the Pilllowcase instructions documents for further details.
