LBMQG Upcoming Events and Programs

Sew Together from Home

Next date: Saturday, July 11 1-3 pm

Our guild will be hosting a virtual sew together via Zoom. It's been months since we've shared our camaraderie in sewing and quilting. Links will be sent out the day of the event so line up some projects, get out some snacks, and set up your devices so we can all enjoy each other's company - online that is.

QuiltCon Community Outreach Challenge

The QuiltCon Charity Challenge has a new name but the mission is the same! Community is the name of the game - let's build something beautiful together.

Theme: Curves - our chosen design is published in our July Newsletter just for LBMQG members

Our submission must be photographed and submitted with the QuiltCon Together deadline for entries in November (TBA). Contact Jeff Warner to sign up for the following on this tentative timeline:
  1. Piecing inset circles (July-early September)
  2. Quilt top final piecing (September)
  3. Quilting (October)
  4. Binding (Late October in time for photography by submission deadline (TBA)

Volunteers: We will need you to get this done right! Piecing, quilting, binding and delivering/picking up project parts - all hands are welcome (washed and cleaned per the CDC, of course)

More details about the challenge can be found at https://www.quiltcon.com/community-challenge-2021

Our creation will be donated to Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach after it makes its debut in QuiltCon 2021

LBMQG PROJECT FOCUS

Here are our continuing projects for guild members.

“Baby Bargello” Quilt Pattern

Jeff has completed a draft of his "Baby Bargello" pattern and his quest for pattern testers continues. Please contact Jeff to get the link to the pattern.
It takes less than ¾ of a yard of 8 different fabrics of your choice. Jeff is looking for open and honest feedback- so contact Jeff with questions or problems. We'd love to see the photos of your finished quilts! Jeff is interested in including them in his published pattern.

2020 More Modern HST BOM

The fun keeps on going every month. See https://www.stephjacobsondesigns.com for all the details of this program co-hosted by Steph Jacobson Designs and our very own Zina.
The blocks are quick finishes and it will be a snap to catch-up if you haven't started. Use the hashtags #moremodernhstbom and #modernhstbom2020 to see what's out there, share, and get inspired.
Guild contributions with the added #lbmqgathome will be featured in a monthly round up on our social media channels.
